OSMOSIS17 Keynote Presenter Announcement
Johnny Long

I’m proud to present our keynote speaker; white hat hacker, dedicated man of faith, original cyber warrior and OSINT educator. Since OSMOSIS began, we’ve had some amazing speakers; top social media experts, forensic experts, hackers, lawyers and investigators. But this following presenter is someone whom all past presenters tip their hat to and respect as a pioneer in this industry, and a singular force for good in an ever-changing world.

This year, we are proud to present Mr. Johnny Long, aka ‘j0hnny‘ or ‘j0hnnyhax’, a computer science wizard, who’s been at the center of counter-hacking since 1996.

Having drawn the map to open source investigations and navigating the dark web since before we called it the dark web, Johnny holds true to his lifelong core as a Christian, Hacker, Author, Ninja, and Pirate.

Mr. Long is involved in authoring or co-authoring over thirteen books on cutting-edge hacking techniques and online risk management He’s also appeared on major news outlets including CNN, CNBC, CBS, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, PC World, Wired, The Register, Slashdot and others. His website has gone from 500 to over 800,000 users.

A well-received presenter, Johnny has presented his no tech hacking lecture from Defcon to Congressmen. He speaks at security events worldwide. He is passionate about what he does, and it shows through his lectures. A highly acclaimed public speaker, Johnny has given talks around the world on topics such as Google Hacking, computer security, computer forensics, and hacker culture, drawing on his unique insight into the mind and tactics of hackers.

Because of his deeply rooted faith and need to help, he created ‘Hackers for Charity’ (hackersforcharity.org), a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing technology, and the underlying infrastructures, to underdeveloped countries. Along with his wife Jen and his family, they left their dream jobs, lifestyle, and trappings of a first-world life and moved to Uganda, Africa to help others live and thrive.

Putting convenience aside, and at times suffering personal jeopardy, these techno-savants used their technical ability, organizational skills and hacking trade to help create functional computer labs, offering training in technology, fund raising and awareness of the struggle of Ugandans in daily life.

Representing Hackers for Charity Johnny says, “We’re about proving that hackers have amazing skills that can transform charitable organizations. We’re about stepping into the gap to feed and educate the world’s most vulnerable citizens. We are virtual, geographically diverse and different. We are Hackers for Charity”

Join OSMOSIS as we welcome our Christian, Hacker, Author, Pirate, Ninja brother back!
